Mission: TAPOSible Rallies Filipinos in a United Front Against Dengue

Baygon® and OFF!®, pest-control brands under SC Johnson officially launches Mission: TAPOSible, a nationwide movement encouraging Filipino families to help protect life’s everyday moments by making dengue prevention part of their daily routine. The campaign kicks off at Market! Market! in Taguig City with four prominent local personalities Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, Melai Cantiveros, and Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, joining hands as brand ambassadors to encourage the public to deepen their understanding of dengue and take proactive measures to help protect their homes and communities from mosquito-borne diseases.

With Mission: TAPOSible, Baygon® and OFF!® aim to help inspire a shift towards proactive, year-round protection so families can focus on what matters most: spending time together, uninterrupted.

About Mission: TAPOSible

According to the latest statistics from the Department of Health (DOH), the Philippines has recorded over 123,000 dengue cases from 1st January to 7th June this year, with children aged 5 to 9 and residents living in urban communities among the most affected.

With the rainy season in full swing and the risk of mosquito breeding ground increasing, the need for consistent dengue prevention becomes even more urgent.

That’s where Mission: TAPOSible comes in, a holistic campaign led by Baygon® and OFF!® to not only help raise awareness but also educate and empower Filipinos to take action against dengue. Anchored on a community pledge, Baygon® and OFF!® call on families to commit to simple, daily prevention habits while gaining valuable knowledge on how to help protect themselves and their communities.

Bringing the campaign to life, Baygon® and OFF!® are launching a multi-faceted, experiential event designed to drive both education and engagement. The event amplifies the campaign’s call to action and features a variety of on-ground activities:
  • The premiere of a dengue documentary: Highlighting the real-life impact of dengue through different points of view including a survivor’s experience, insights from entomologists, and ongoing local prevention efforts. Head to https://missiontaposible.com/ to watch the documentary, learn more about dengue and how simple actions can help create positive change.
  • The OFF!® Jingle Dance: Turning the brand’s catchy jingle into a fun activity for visitors to enjoy together. Dancers lead simple steps, inviting visitors to join in, learn the moves, and dance along. It’s not only a fun moment but also a rewarding experience, with exciting prizes awaiting participants.
  • Celebrity Meet-And-Greet Sessions, Interactive Games And Booth Activities: The event features activities that incorporate aspects of the Department of Health’s 5S strategy, helping visitors to learn about key dengue prevention steps while enjoying games and interactive experiences. The public can also explore mosquito and dengue facts through info panels and educational displays available at the event.

By making dengue protection a shared commitment, Misson: TAPOSible, helps empower every family to take control and safeguard what they value the most. Through simple habits  such as applying mosquito repellent before going out, using aerosol sprays or coils to protect indoor spaces, or regularly cleaning potential mosquito breeding areas around the home, famililes can help make a big difference in safeguarding their loved ones.

How to Join the Movement

Filipinos are encouraged to take part in Mission: TAPOSible by making a personal pledge at https://missiontaposible.com/. To join, simply enter your name, email address and province, then click the pledge button to show your commitment in taking daily steps to prevent dengue.

Upon pledging, participants will see their names displayed on the campaign’s virtual pledge wall alongside with a growing community committed to dengue protection. They will also receive a special discount code for Baygon® & OFF!® products to help them protect their loved ones and homes from dengue anytime, anywhere.

By committing to small, daily actions, Filipinos can play a role in helping protect themselves, their families, and their communities from dengue so they can focus on what truly matters: enjoying life’s meaningful moments, uninterrupted.

PSID-Ahlen leads the rise of experiential holiday interiors in the Philippines

The emphasis on emotional connection and immersion in interior design has been growing, particularly during the holidays when houses are transformed into hubs of creativity, community, and reminiscence.

Leading this movement are the designers at the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID)-Ahlen Institute, who reinvent holiday interiors by fusing innovation, tradition, and culture.

Globally, the experiential trend—characterized by interior designs that arouse the senses and foster emotional bonds—is spreading throughout retail and residential spaces.  In response to the increasing need for environments that engage and connect the senses, PSID-Ahlen students are creating interiors with multimodal aspects and captivating stories.

Here are some concepts from PSID-Ahlen students that showcase this design trend.

Perlas Restaurant

As an illustration of this experiential design, consider the Perlas Restaurant idea, which celebrates the marine beauty of the Philippines by fusing the natural beauty of its numerous islands with the Filipinos' intense passion for food and the social connections they make over meals.

Polynesian Pool House

An hypothetical three-story resto-house that embodies the culture is the Polynesian Pool House, which serves as another illustration.  Each floor of this concept immerses diners in a distinct layer of culture, examining how Polynesian patterns, textures, and storytelling may create a meaningful dining experience.

Greek Mediterranean Home

The Greek Mediterranean Home concept, finally, would be a home where visitors would get a taste of Greece.  The furnishings, accessories, textures, and materials all combine to provide the ideal retreat for anyone looking to unwind and take in the tranquility of the Mediterranean Sea.

The most notable examples of this trend in experiential interior design are immersive Christmas installations found in retail malls, museums, and cultural exhibits.

Later this year, PSID-Ahlen is holding their exhibit for their graduating class called Designs of Christmas Exhibit (D.O.C.E.).

There will be four galleries in the exhibit that will introduce the audience to various Christmas experiences.  By using color schemes or a cultural viewpoint, gallery visitors will perceive Christmas as a trip through time and a reflection of the holiday's charm.

"The upcoming exhibit delves into Christmas styling and decorating as a major driving force in introducing holiday trends amid impeccable interior designed spaces. The exhibiting class of 2025 promises its viewers a variety of styles and trends guaranteed to inspire, setting the stage for a new way of designing for the holidays." ~Pojie Pambid, PSID-Ahlen's Vice President for Academic Affairs

PSID-Ahlen’s D.O.C.E. is slated to open on September 27, 2025 at the GH Tower in Greenhills.

Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) Batangas Plant sets benchmark for Manufacturing Excellence and Sustainability

By continuing to innovate and expand its Sto. Tomas plant, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI), the nation's sole producer of PepsiCo beverages, is solidifying its position as a leader in the Philippine beverage sector.  Within its nationwide network, the Tomas, Batangas Plant is one of the most cutting-edge and environmentally friendly establishments.

PCPPI's ambitious transformation path includes expanding operations and integrating industry-leading standards in food safety, production, environmental stewardship, and community involvement. The Sto. Tomas Plant is a prime example of operational excellence and growth driven by purpose, demonstrating these goals.

Innovation and Quality

The Sto. Tomas facility is where the Southern Tagalog Regional Office (STRO) is located.  The Tomas factory is now PCPPI's most sophisticated bottle production location.  The company's latest PET line, which is devoted to making carbonated soft drinks in highly recyclable PET bottles, increases production capacity and strengthens its dedication to sustainability and circularity.

With seven fully operational lines, the facility currently produces the well-known PepsiCo drinks that Filipinos have been enjoying for more than 70 years.  Every bottle made demonstrates PCPPI's rigorous adherence to global standards for food safety, quality, and operations.

We are building a resilient, high-performing organization guided by courageous people and enabled by world-class systems.” ~Phyo Phyu Noe, PCPPI President and CEO

Commitment to Food Safety

PCPPI is the epitome of excellence, exemplified by dedication and constancy.  12 of the company's manufacturing sites across the country, including Sto. Tomas plant.  The highly sought-after Food Safety System Certification (FSSC), a widely accepted standard, was recommended for Tomas.

Because it validates the company's ability to manufacture safe food and packaging products, reduce operational risks, execute resource optimization initiatives, fortify supply chain partnerships, and maintain strict food safety protocols, FSSC certification offers PCPPI a distinct competitive edge.

The FSSC-recommended facilities include plants in Santo Tomas, Muntinlupa, San Fernando, Rosario, Davao, Bacolod, Naga, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Tanauan, and Cebu City.

Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability practices are deeply embedded in the Sto. Tomas plant’s daily operations. PCPPI’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) milestones highlight its progress on multiple fronts:
  • 13,000 metric tons of post-consumer plastic collected under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law
  • 237 million liters of water saved through conservation and reuse technologies
  • 44% reduction in inventory losses thanks to improved supply chain and planning systems

These accomplishments reflect PCPPI’s unwavering focus on water stewardship, plastic circularity, and energy efficiency, proving that growth and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Building the Future

Following the conclusion of its Annual Stockholders' Meeting, PCPPI reiterated its transformation plan, which is based on responsible business practices, innovation, and agility.  In 2025, the Sto. Tomas plant is preparing for the next stage of life.  A major facilitator of this trip is the Tomas plant.

The Sto. Tomas plant goes beyond superior production quality.  Through employment creation, business support, and community engagement, Tomas Plant actively supports regional development. Currently, more than 600 people from Batangas and the neighboring areas work at the factory.

The Sto. Tomas plant is commemorating PCPPI's anniversary this month.  Its long-term dedication to people, the environment, and performance—creating a more robust and sustainable future for the Philippine beverage industry—is symbolized by the Sto. Tomas plant.
