Herbalife's Asia Pacific Wellness Culture Survey 2026 highlights a growing shift in wellness habits among Gen Z and Millennial consumers in the Philippines, with younger generations increasingly taking a holistic approach to personal wellbeing.
According to the survey, younger consumers are placing greater emphasis on multiple dimensions of wellness, including physical, mental, emotional, and social health. This broader approach appears to be translating into positive experiences, with more than half of younger respondents across the region reporting noticeable improvements in their wellbeing over the past three years.
The Philippine findings further demonstrate the growing importance of wellness in the daily lives of younger consumers. Nearly eight in 10 Gen Z Filipinos (79%) and 76% of Millennials said they engage in wellness activities more frequently today than they did three years ago.
Both figures exceed the 74% average among Filipino respondents overall, reflecting stronger engagement among younger generations.
The results suggest that wellness is becoming less of an occasional goal and more of an everyday commitment, with younger Filipinos increasingly incorporating healthier and more intentional habits into their routines.
“Gen Zs and Millennials truly stand out in the way they approach wellness – with intention and commitment. This can be seen through the growing popularity of run clubs and pickleball communities in the country[1] where younger consumers actively seek opportunities to improve their health and connect with like-minded communities in recent years. Their commitment to wellness is not only driving positive outcomes in the near term but also laying the foundation for them to lead healthier and more meaningful lives in the longer term. The future of wellness will not be built through individual effort alone. Younger generations increasingly look to both their physical and digital communities for motivation, guidance and accountability as they work towards their health goals. In the Philippines, we see this being reflected through the increasing number of pickleball courts and club[2], which bring people together around shared wellness aspirations and experiences. Whether through fitness groups, wellness communities or online networks, these connections are helping to turn healthy intentions into lasting habits and making wellbeing a more integrated part of everyday life.” ~Kinki Lau, General Manager, Herbalife Philippines
Gen Zs Redefining What Better Wellbeing Looks Like
The latest findings from Herbalife's Asia Pacific Wellness Culture Survey 2026 show that Gen Z Filipinos are taking an increasingly comprehensive approach to their wellbeing. Despite reporting stronger wellbeing outcomes than older generations, they continue to identify several areas where they want to make further improvements.
Mental wellbeing and stress management rank first at 53%, followed by sleep quality at 45%, emotional wellbeing at 40%, and nutrition at 37%.
These priorities are already influencing Gen Z's everyday habits. Fifty-three percent of Gen Z Filipinos report improving their sleep habits, while 47% say they are making healthier food choices and reducing unhealthy habits. This suggests that younger consumers are increasingly focused on sustainable lifestyle changes that can contribute to long-term wellbeing.
The survey also highlights a significant generational difference in how wellness is defined. Among Gen Z Filipinos, mental health is the leading area where additional support is needed, cited by 68% of respondents. This is followed by physical health at 62% and emotional health at 57%.
By comparison, Gen X and Boomer Filipinos place greater emphasis on physical health. The findings indicate that younger consumers are moving toward a more holistic definition of wellness, recognizing that physical, mental, and emotional health all contribute to overall wellbeing.
For Gen Z, achieving better health is not necessarily about concentrating on one area. Instead, it involves finding the support, resources, and communities needed to maintain progress across multiple dimensions of wellbeing.
Digital Communities Play a Growing Role in Gen Z’s Pursuit of Wellness
The Herbalife Asia Pacific Wellness Culture Survey 2026 also highlights the growing role of digital communities in the wellness habits of Gen Z Filipinos.
Over the past 12 months, more than half of Gen Z respondents said social media positively influenced their physical wellbeing (63%), emotional wellbeing (58%), and mental wellbeing (55%). Their broader social networks also contribute to their wellness journey, with 65% citing their social circles and 47% pointing to online communities as important sources of support in developing and maintaining healthier habits.
Among Millennials, the influence of personal relationships remains stronger. Friends and family have the greatest impact on their emotional wellbeing at 64%, followed by mental wellbeing at 62%.
The results point to a generational shift in how Filipinos access wellness support. While both Gen Z and Millennials recognize the value of community, Gen Z is more likely to engage with digital spaces for wellness information, motivation, and encouragement, whereas Millennials continue to depend more heavily on close friends and family.
Together, the findings underscore how wellness is becoming increasingly social—with the communities that surround people playing an important role in helping them build healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
