A Visual of Memory and Light: Richmonde Hotel Iloilo unveils "Dumdumanon" by Artists Babak Niaraki

Multimedia artist Babak Niaraki poses with Richmonde Hotel Iloilo officers and staff at the launch of his photo exhibit.

Discover Iloilo through a different lens at Richmonde Hotel Iloilo’s Dumdumanon: Seeing Iloilo—Moments of a City, Seen and Remembered, a compelling photography exhibition featuring the work of Iranian multimedia artist Babak Niaraki.

Launched in celebration of the Iloilo Arts Festival this October, the exhibition reflects Iloilo Business Park’s role as the city’s Center of Arts and Culture. Its title, Dumdumanon, draws from Hiligaynon and means to remember or recollect—a fitting expression for a collection devoted to the moments, places, and experiences that make Iloilo special.

Having found a home in Iloilo City, Niaraki captures the destination with both a fresh perspective and a deep sense of belonging. His photographs range from the colorful spectacle of the Dinagyang Festival to the candid, unfiltered moments of everyday local life.

Dumdumanon: Seeing Iloilo—Moments of a City, Seen and Remembered photo exhibit runs until November 6, 2026 at the lobby of Richmonde Hotel Iloilo.

The result is a visual journey that brings the city to life. Viewers can almost sense the energy of the sadsad, imagine the bustle of Central Market, and feel the refreshing coastal breeze through his evocative images.

More than a showcase of photography, Dumdumanon is an invitation to appreciate Iloilo’s cultural richness and the people and places that give the growing city its distinctive soul.

Art Meets Enriching Experiences

More than a showcase of exceptional photography, Dumdumanon reflects Richmonde Hotel Iloilo’s continuing efforts to bring authentic local culture closer to its guests while celebrating Babak Niaraki’s artistic vision.

"Just as Babak’s photos effortlessly bridge the gap between Iloilo’s high-energy celebrations and its quiet, soulful rhythms, Richmonde strives to elevate every facet of a guest's stay—delivering memorable hospitality not only through grand gatherings, but also in serene retreats. So, we invite everyone to visit the hotel to reminisce and rediscover Iloilo anew through Babak’s lenses.” ~Lucille Pedroso, Richmonde’s Assistant Director of Sales

The exhibition invites visitors to discover Iloilo through Niaraki’s photographs, with the collection on display at the Richmonde Hotel Iloilo lobby until November 6, 2026. Art lovers can also purchase the large-format prints featured in the exhibition.
