Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines New Champion Izzy Johnson Qualifies for World Finals in Zurich

At the Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Finals, Manila's Izzy Johnson defeated the nation's most energetic street dancers in a contest decided solely by the audience amid thunderous applause, flashing lights, and constant rhythm. Izzy earned the title and the opportunity to represent the Philippines on the international stage in Zurich, Switzerland, by being the last dancer standing at Bridgetowne, Pasig, with every beat, every response, and every change in energy.

“I felt that all my pressure was replaced by excitement. The crowd became my fuel. When I saw they were happy with my dancing, I felt like I had already won. Because of the dance community, I was able to find my own style. I used to only do choreographed dances before. But freestyle is different. I used to freestyle on my own, but thanks to the dance community, I was able to learn more. I also absorbed some of their maturity—that when it comes to dance, you don't have to be too technical. You just have to be true to your dance. I guess one of the dance battle tactics that helped me was learning to connect with the crowd through my movements. Since this is Red Bull Dance Your Style, it was so important that they understood my movements. Our artistry must touch their hearts. To represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals is to represent the people. But first of all, it starts with me, I’m a Filipino, so I represent myself first. Nemesis from Cebu and Doodsieroll from Davao, two competitors in Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines, joined Izzy in igniting the evening. The National Finals showcased the richness and variety of Philippine street dancing, fusing local vitality, international skill, and passion for the art form.

A Night Where the Crowd Took Control

The National Finals established a rapid pace from the first round. Since there were no judges on the panel, the audience made all of the decisions, transforming the dance floor into an area where audience interaction was just as important as performance.

Dancers entered each battle without knowing what song would play next, and each one played out like a live dialogue between the DJ, the dancer, and the crowd. Competitors were pushed to change tactics, flip the energy, and react accurately under duress as tracks abruptly changed. In real time, the audience responded with enthusiasm and applause, creating momentum and deciding who progressed and who dropped out of the tournament.

The relationship between the dancer and the audience grew stronger as the battles went on, influencing the event's general flow. Every moment became larger, louder, and more unpredictable as a result of the energy loop it created.

A Champion Carrying a Nation’s Rhythm

One dancer had continuously caught the audience's interest by the last round. Izzy produced performances that were noteworthy in several confrontations by fusing musicality, control, and presence. The victory was finally achieved by his ability to adjust to various tracks while retaining a distinct sense of individuality. The audience witnessed a recognizable reflection of cultural influences, hometown roots, and the common movement that characterizes Filipino street dancing in Izzy's performance.

Izzy commended the local Filipino dancing culture and talked about his influences. Izzy showed a talent that demands the music throughout the evening. He became an expert at fusing spontaneity, unparalleled intensity, and rhythm into rounds that electrified the evening.

A Battle Map Across the Philippines

The National Finals were more than just a tournament; they were a dynamic cultural map. It demonstrated how many forms from various parts of Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon continue to influence the street dance scene in the nation.

With movements rooted in strength, grit, and unadulterated passion, Cebu's Nemesis entered the limelight with explosive, grounded power. Every hit was delivered with intention, grabbing the audience's interest from the opening beat.

Davao's Doodsieroll, a Mindanao native, responded with flowing melody. The audience was drawn into each transition as he skillfully combined rhythm and movement with timing and control to produce moments that felt effortless yet incredibly planned.

Izzy, the capital's representative, added a keen, experimental edge. He defied expectations and kept each round unpredictable by experimenting with textures, tempo, and surprising freestyle decisions.

Each dancer added to a larger story in spite of their differences. Instead of clashing, their styles came together. The conflict turned into a vibrant exhibition of Filipino inventiveness, as local identities persevered while working toward a common objective: portraying the Philippines internationally.

Now that he has won the national title, Izzy is focused on the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals, where competitors from more than 54 nations will compete in a global showdown of identity, sound, and style.

Taho Story and Uratex Dream Claim Victory at Red Bull Half Court National Title, Geared Up for Dubai World Final in November

The Red Bull Half floor National Finals brought together elite teams from Davao, Cebu, and Manila with WildCards for a one-day, all-or-nothing 3-on-3 basketball match, igniting the floor and finishing off an incredible Philippine tour.

Under the high-octane regulation of Red Bull Half Court, the nation's most formidable 3-on-3 teams unleashed thrilling plays on October 25, 2025, at Parqal, Aseana City, as they fought for glory.  Every possession carried weight in this 12-second shot clock game, which was capped at 10 minutes or first to 21 points. This required rapid thinking, tight defense, and quick execution.

The National Final, however, was a fully fledged streetball festival rather than only a tournament.  MC Pao Avila hosted, and his charm and wisdom elevated the occasion.  A dynamic dance performance by the Philippine All Stars lighted up the stage, and Stance Philippines' sleek Street Car Showcase turned heads with their modified automobiles.  Additionally, the HoopJeep partnership brought streetball culture to life by adding a mobile court.  Fans participated by holding their own competitions.  similar to how the Dunk Competition is evaluated based on originality and sheer fandom.  The Two-Point Shootout, on the other hand, was a 60-second flurry of clutch shooting that lit up the sidelines with each swish.  These moments encapsulated the event's distinctive fusion of community spirit, culture, and basketball.

With unrelenting effort and razor-sharp accuracy, Taho Story defeated Fit' N' Grind in a close 9–5 match to win the men's national championship after overcoming a tough elimination process. 

Taho Story revealed their strategy for the event, which was to concentrate on defense and make sure everyone knew their position on the court.

The squad stated their pride and resolve to highlight the resilience and heart of Filipino basketball players as they get ready for the World Finals in Dubai.  The team sent an encouraging and thankful message to their fellow Filipinos.  In a thrilling, nail-biting final, Uratex Dream, the women's team, dominated the women's bracket, defeating rival Uratex Tibay 22–8 to seal the deal.

“Even if one of us makes a mistake, we motivate each other to keep focused in the game. It’s overwhelming—for us to be representing the country. It’s a good opportunity for us to improve our 3x3 game. Keep on supporting us, it will for sure motivate us to keep bringing our A-game against other teams.” ~said another member

In a thrilling, nail-biting final, Uratex Dream, the women's team, dominated the women's bracket, defeating rival Uratex Tibay 22–8 to seal the deal.

Uratex Dream stressed that they relied on their training and teammates as their main plan.  maintaining focus on one another while adhering to the strategy their coach had taught them. 

“You can see how well our preparation translated well into our game. No slowing down, just keep working hard. We’re excited to represent the Philippines on the world stage. We’ll do our best to earn the Championship Title in Dubai.” ~said a Uratex Dream team member

 As a team that returned from the Red Bull Half Court World Finals the previous year, they expressed their enthusiasm and resolve before Dubai.  As they progressed through the World Finals, the team also took a moment to urge supporters to keep up their support for women's basketball.

Now that they have won the national championship, Taho Story and Uratex Dream are eager to compete in the World Finals in November in Dubai.  They are prepared to compete against 19 other nations' top 3-on-3 teams.  Team Philippines is prepared to perform spectacularly and pursue world streetball gold on the bright and high-stakes global stage.

Red Bull Half Court Brings Another Explosive Season of the World’s Biggest Streetball Tournament to the Philippines

In order to qualify for the Red Bull Half Court World Final, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in November, up-and-coming local talent must demonstrate their abilities in the largest 3-on-3 streetball competition.

The Ultimate Streetball Tournament is Back in the Philippines

Players worldwide may now play the fastest variation of 3-on-3 streetball thanks to Red Bull Half Court.  Red Bull Half Court, in collaboration with FILA and Spalding, will host qualifying rounds in five continents with more than 20 competing nations, including the rookies from South Africa, Norway, and Kosovo.

Teams of three players compete in Red Bull Half floor games, which only occupy half the floor like traditional basketball.  FIBA regulations govern the games, which have a 10-minute regulation time limit and a 21-point maximum.  A match's winner is the player who scores the most points in regulation time or the player who scores the most points first.

The game will take an unexpected turn when teams that score the most points in all games get the "Own the Court" bonus, which will help them move on to the next round.  Two special circles behind the arc allow 3-pointers to make 3-pointers, which speeds up and intensifies the game.

In the Philippines, Red Bull Half Court and 7-Eleven are stepping up the ante for their 2025 season by implementing a new two-day qualification round tournament structure.  Regional qualifiers will be held in Manila on September 27 and 28, Cebu on September 13 and 14, and Davao on August 30 and 31.  The qualification match is scheduled for the second day, while the elimination rounds are scheduled for the first day.  The teams that win each regional qualifier will go to the Red Bull Half Court National Final in Manila on October 18. There, they will compete against a few wildcard teams for the opportunity to represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Half Court World Final in the United Arab Emirates.

On April 25, Red Bull Dance Your Style held the Manila Qualifier at XYLO at The Palace, igniting the streets of Manila with yet another round of intense dance competitions.  In intense one-on-one competitions, the best freestyle dancers from Manila and the surrounding areas fought for a highly sought-after berth at the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final in Cebu.

The Red Bull Dance Your Style Asia Tour's visit in the Philippines coincided with the regional qualifier, which made the event even more exciting and engaging.

The City’s Finest Shine at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Manila Qualifier

At the regional qualifier in Manila, the region's best dancers were challenged to demonstrate their creativity, improvisation, and freestyling prowess set to a random selection of tunes.  In classic Red Bull Dance Your Style form, the fans decided which dancer advanced to the next round, with Jigoro finally winning.

“I’m so happy and it’s all worth it. Being a full-time dancer, (this is) a big feat for me. Despite the fierce competition on the battle stage, all the love from my fellow competitors is really one of the most memorable things to me about the competition.” ~Jigoro

Jigoro also cites the support from his friends and the support from his community for his drive during the competition. For Jigoro, the highlight of his Red Bull Dance Your Style experience is the local dance community’s support for each other.  

This triumph also qualifies Jigoro to compete in the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly to Los Angeles, USA as the Philippines' representative at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final.  Jigoro and EBOY, the runners-up from the Manila Qualifier, will join SUJI and SPADECKX from the Davao Qualifier as finalists for the National Final.

Red Bull Dance Your Style Asia Tour Lights Up Manila’s Dance Scene

As the Red Bull dancing Your Style Asia Tour arrived in Manila, the city transformed into a dancing metropolis.  MT Pop, a Vietnamese popping sensation and 2024 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Champion, traveled to Manila to immerse himself in the local dance scene and network with rising talent.  This provided a rare opportunity for international and local street dancers to collaborate and elevate street dance throughout Asia.  Japanese Hip-Hop dancer and 2022 Red Bull Dance Your Style World Champion THE D Soraki, as well as Korean Waacking queen and 2024 Red Bull Dance Your Style Korea National Finalist Yoon Ji, joined MT Pop for the Manila leg of the tour.

“It’s been a long time coming. I’ve really been wanting to come to the Philippines, and a lot of dancers from here have been messaging me to ask when I will come here. Finally, I’m in the Philippines and I’m really happy to be here. Immediately, everybody has given us such a warm welcome and shown us a lot of love. Luzon’s Top Dancers Shine at Red Bull Dance Your Style Manila Qualifiers

Another epic dance battle took place at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Manila Qualifiers, held last July 27 at Octopus in Makati. The intense competition showcased Luzon's top dance talents. With the conclusion of the series of qualifiers, the country eagerly awaits the grand showdown where finalists will battle it out for the coveted title and the chance to represent Philippines in the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals. 

The unique global street dance competition swept the nation with the regional qualifiers, challenging dancers from Cebu, Davao, and Manila to show off their talent as they freestyle to a random selection of songs. Each city hosted fierce battles, with dancers from across the country pushing their limits and captivating audiences with their unique styles and high-energy performances. Each of them were vying for a spot in the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals. 

Manila witnessed an exceptional level of competition. The competition concluded with an unforgettable performance by Klockwise (Kenneth Martinez), who emerged victorious with his flawless moves and undeniable charisma. Reflecting on his Red Bull Dance Your Style journey.

“I’ve only (followed) Red Bull Dance Your Style via social media, then when it came to the Philippines, I went over to watch it live (and) the (following) year as well. When I was in the audience, I had a vision of myself performing on stage. That’s when I made it my goal that one day I would dance, perform, and show my skills. It’s super unexpected. I just wanted to enjoy, to show what I enjoy doing. I’ll prepare highlights and ground moves, create new patterns of my locking, and of course, listen to new music.” ~Klockwise (Kenneth Martinez)

He shared that his preparation for the qualifiers involved listening to a lot of music and freestyling to it. He also said he will do much of the same leading up to the National Finals.

Kid Magnus (Flourence Lavesores) who won first runner up, shared that the event felt less like a competition. 

“I really just enjoyed it. The crowd was so energetic and happy, which made me feel that I was just dancing, enjoying the music, dancing to the beat. I was a bit pressured because (my fellow) competitors (are) well known, but all of them were very nice.” ~Kid Magnus (Flourence Lavesores)

Tatai, a Japanese dancer who made it to the top 4, expressed her joy and enthusiasm at being able to join the competition. 

“It’s about letting your mind go crazy, expressing your love for dance, and enjoying music.I want to practice more, perfect my favorite dance, and give it my all on the next stage.” ~Tatai, a Japanese dancer

Klockwise, along with Kid Magnus, Tatai, and Q, also secured their spots for the National Finals, joining R3DMAN (Edrian Alcaria) and MSTR PIECE (Regie Harris Lavestre), the winner and first runner-up of the Davao qualifier. Included in the finalists are Nemesis (Sam Rivera) and Khlai (Khlai Vargaso Batula), the winner and first runner-up of the Cebu qualifier, to complete 8 finalists from the qualifiers. The remaining slots for the National Finals will be given to wildcard picks.

Red Bull Dance Your Style dance consultants, Vince Mendoza and Lema Diaz of the Philippine All-Stars, expressed their excitement for the upcoming National Finals especially after seeing the talents from the qualifiers in Manila, Cebu, and Davao. 

“There were so many unforgettable moments. You could tell that everybody brought their A-game and did not hold back. Everybody really wanted to have the top spot to participate in the National Finals. All you have to do is be yourself, show everybody what you’ve got. What makes you different from the rest is your own experience, your own flavor, where you come from. On what he looks forward to seeing in the National finals. Vince Mendoza offered as his advice for dancers as they gear up for the National Finals.

“I want to see more identity, creativity, performance, and maturity of the dancers, understanding the message of the music and the crowd. That’s really hard to achieve as a dancer, but for the young generation, they’re really fast at learning and adapting. Listen to new music, different styles, and different genres. Enjoy the music; don't force yourself to train. It’s not about winning or losing; it’s about transformation. Accept your identity, accept your uniqueness, and showcase that uniqueness. Don’t be afraid and believe in yourself.” ~Vince Mendoza  of the Philippine All-Stars

The global competition stands out for its unique battle format, with the crowd deciding who moves on to the next stage of the competition. 

The competition was fierce with 16 dancers showcasing a stunning array of dance styles. Finalists at the Cebu qualifier did not disappoint, delivering jaw-dropping performances that left the audience in awe. JPY (Jeffrey Casas Toledo), Nemesis (Sam Rivera), Khlai (Khlai Vargaso Batula), and Baby Titan (Shihan Maui Ricablanca) made it to the Top 4. After a series of intense battle rounds, Nemesis was crowned as the winner. Her flawless performances throughout the competition earned her the top spot and a ticket to the National Finals.

“(It) feels great. Last year, I only won second place so this serves as my redemption. Underground. This year, there are a lot of dancers from outside Cebu; some are my friends and some I just met during the competition. I think one of the highlights for this year is meeting new friends and competitors. Since the competition for the National Finals is already filtered from Baguio, Davao, and Manila, I need to level up my training. Nemesis had really unpredictable moves and undeniable skills.” ~Nemesis (Sam Rivera)

Nemesis shared that what she found to be one of the highlights for this year’s competition was getting to compete with fellow members of her dance crew.

First runner up Khlai, who also secured her spot in the National Finals, expressed her joy for placing in the competition. 

“It feels so surreal, I don’t even know where to begin. Today is the birthday of my grandfather who passed away. The performance that I did was dedicated to my grandfather and grandparents. I don’t really prepare that long or have a specific training, but I’ll try to do cardio for my stamina so that I can keep up with the dancers.” ~Khlai, First runner up

Khlai shared that her motivation to join the competition, despite her long-term knee injury, was her late grandfather. 

In preparation for the National Finals, Khlai said she wanted to work on her stamina stating, 

Philippine All-Stars legends and dance consultants Lema Diaz and Vince Mendoza were seen at the event. 

“All I can say is that (the competition) was full of inspiration and new faces. Compared to last year, we multiplied by a lot. A lot of dancers supported Red Bull Dance Your Style and the skills really leveled up from last year. It’s going to be more crazy. We’re excited for the Manila qualifiers. There’s a lot of dancers and new faces. I’m excited that I can witness that moment. “We always tell them to always have fun no matter what. Win or lose, it’s all about the transformation. If you win, there’s transformation. If you lose, there’s transformation. It’s all about giving love to the community, to the next generation, to the OGs, to our past, present, and future.” ~Vince Mendoza, Philippine All-Stars legends and dance consultant

With the conclusion of the Cebu qualifiers, all eyes are now on the thrilling next round of the competition. The Red Bull Dance Your Style journey continues with the Manila qualifiers set for July 27, 2024, at Octopus Makati. More hopeful dancers across the country will compete for their chance to shine at the World Finals.

B-Boy Engski and B-Girl Yani First-Ever Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines

B-Boy Engski and B-Girl Yani showcased their incredible talent and skill, emerging victorious from a competitive field of over 80 other breakers at the first-ever Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines last March 7, 2024 at Apotheka, Manila.

Among the fierce competition, these two dancers demonstrated exceptional skill which captivated both the audience and judges alike, earning them the prestigious title of Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines Champions. With their victory, they solidify their status as two of the finest breakers in the Philippines, starting their journey onto the global stage.

As winners of the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines, B-Boy Engski and B-Girl Yani, together with second place finishers,  B-Boy Killafour and B-Girl Liz, will travel to Indonesia to represent their country at the upcoming Red Bull BC One Southeast Asia Regional Final this March 22nd. The stakes couldn't be higher, as the regional champion in Indonesia will secure a coveted wild card slot at the Last Chance Cypher  for the Red Bull BC One World Final in Brazil later this year.

Meanwhile, B-Girl Yani shared her excitement about the inclusion of B-Girls in the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher. She sees it as a significant step forward for the breaking community.

“I'm happy because this is the first time Red Bull BC One is in the Philippines and will feature a 1-v-1 category. Now that they've opened it for B-girls, I'm overjoyed and overwhelmed because it's not just for me, but for the entire breaking community.” ~B-Girl Yani

Leading up to the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher, the Red Bull BC One All Stars engaged with the local dance community through a series of workshops spearheaded by renowned Filipino breakers such as B-Boy Ronnie and B-Girl Logistx. This initiative aimed to foster connections and inspire the next generation of dancers. 

“I think they (Breakers) need more events like this, they need to get more support. And also, we did a session with them and they just need more opportunities to battle, travel, and to build with one another. They need more opportunities to connect within different cities." ~B-Boy Ronnie

B-Girl Logistx also added that the breaking community needs more support, funding, and events like Red Bull BC One.

“A lot of the [Filipino] breakers are so dope, but what I think holds them back in terms of opportunities is just the visibility. So we can have more of that, which people like myself and Ronnie are pitching for. And connecting with others to bring that visibility, and the support here and for them to stay inspired and keep it up, which I know they will.” ~B-Girl Logistx

With breaking included in the Paris Summer Olympics for the first time, the Red Bull BC One All Stars eagerly embraced the opportunity to engage with the vibrant local dance community. This initiative underscored Red Bull’s dedication to promoting dance, arts, and culture in the Philippines and also amplified the significance of breaking on a global stage. 

The Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Philippines marks a pivotal moment for the country's breaking scene, showcasing the talent and passion that exists within its borders.
