Ajinomoto receives EPR recognition from DENR for Sustainability Efforts and Environmental Stewardship

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources' (DENR) 2026 Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) Recognition Program: Celebrating Achievements and Milestones recently awarded Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC) a Special Citation for Obliged Enterprises.

APC's SariCycle® program, an inventive and adaptable plastic trash collection project that enables local micro-entrepreneurs, including Sari-Sari store owners, to take the lead in the community in decreasing plastic waste and pollution, is at the center of this accomplishment. By working together to provide recycling facilities with better feedstock or materials that are clean, sorted, and more appropriate for processing, this program encourages small companies to become agents of environmental change.

APC collaborates closely with accredited partners, including the Quezon City Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (QC CCESD) and Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies (BEST), to support this program. Through these partnerships, APC reaffirms its unwavering commitment to sustainability by delivering initiatives that are inclusive, collaborative, and impactful.

As an FMCG firm, APC's strategy of integrating sustainability into the core of their operations and enabling communities to take action alongside the company is validated by this DENR accreditation. The prize serves as a reminder that sustainability becomes a shared accomplishment rather than only an objective when communities and businesses collaborate.

Furthermore, this acknowledgment strengthens APC's 2030 Roadmap, which aims to enhance the healthy life expectancy of 1 billion people while drastically reducing its environmental effect by 50%.

APC thinks that sustainability promotes better local economies, empowered micro-enterprises, and healthier environments in addition to regulatory compliance. By proving that corporate leadership and national advancement can coexist, the corporation also establishes the benchmark for ethical business practices in the nation.
