This new lens is lightweight and small, weighing only 654 g (approximately), despite its super-telephoto capabilities shooting up to 400mm. The most recent optical design, which uses two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and two aspherical elements, achieves excellent image quality throughout the whole zoom range. Additionally, the lens has built-in optical image stabilization to enable handheld shooting in the super-telephoto range and fast, accurate AF (autofocus) performance to help capture moving subjects like birds, sports, trains, and aircraft.
