World's Gaming Titans Launch Next-Gen Platform CRETA in Manila, Announces Listing in Coins.ph

The world's leading game creators have come together in the country to launch CRETA, a multiverse gaming entertainment platform and the latest product of their collaborative genius. The CRETA token will be listed on local cryptocurrency exchange Coins.ph starting July 8.

Thomas Vu, Executive Producer of Global Phenomenon League of Legends and Netflix's Emmy-Winning Series Arcane

Thomas Vu, Executive Producer of Global Phenomenon League of Legends and Netflix's Emmy-Winning Series Arcane, together with another game production giant Ray Eiichiro Nakazato, a former vice president at Electronic Arts Japan Studio and worked as senior manager at Microsoft Japan Game Studios, made the announcement at a media conference held at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

“Oftentimes, when you see people build ecosystems, it’s piecemeal. With CRETA, our team has been really thoughtful and strategic about building all the pieces together harmoniously, and I think that connective tissue is really important. It's designed to be ubiquitous in all these different ways, and I suspect that it's going to catch a lot of people off guard. Currently, the team is working on some interesting business models, and the scalability of what we're building is impressive. When you think about it, very few teams have 25 plus years of gaming experience - this just doesn't exist, so the next evolution of existing genres that CRETA is working on is going to be interesting. ~Thomas Vu, Executive Producer of Global Phenomenon League of Legends and Netflix's Emmy-Winning Series Arcane

Aside from Vu, comprising the team of veteran producers and developers behind CRETA are Kay Youn, CEO of CRETA affiliate CCR and lead developer of the iconic game Fortress; Yoshiki Okamoto, the legendary developer behind Street Fighter 2 and Monster Strike; Joohyung Jang, the game producer behind iconic titles like Lineage and Aion; and Nakazato, Chief Creative Officer and Head of Japan.

Their combined expertise ensures that CRETA delivers a next-generation gaming experience on a decentralized metaverse platform, where both gamers and professional game studios can provide Web3 games and new gaming services. CRETA also  implements S2E (Share to Earn), which combines user video sharing platforms with typical P2E (Play to Earn) and C2E (Create to Earn) features.

During his presentation, Nakazato highlighted the platform’s integrated approach. Nakazato further explained the benefits of CRETA’s Blockchain Technology.

“Within the CRETA ecosystem, any game can use our social media features. For instance, when you press the start button, our social media can pop up within the game. You don't need Discord anymore; it's all in one integrated environment. Another key differentiation for CRETA is its use of the low-cost blockchain, Locus Chain. It’s a very fast and scalable blockchain developed over seven years by our technology engineers who have been making games for 20 years. This ensures the platform is cost-effective and sustainable. There are 3 billion gamers in the world now, but Web3 is very small [in comparison]. So we’re not trying to target Web3 gamers - we are trying to change the entire gaming industry. ~Ray Eiichiro Nakazato, Chief Creative Officer and Head of Japan

Users will also be able to join in the evolution, as the platform is equipped with a proprietary Game Creation Engine that will empower them to develop their own games, with the freedom to publish and distribute their creations as NFT’s.

Nakazato also announced the scheduled release of the Super Club, a gaming and Web 3.0 social media and community platform, that will begin in late-July.

The company’s goal is clear, according to Nakazato.

2024 CSR Conference and Expo in July spotlights innovation and technology in a New and Inclusive Future

Technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) have emerged as transformative forces in the modern business landscape, and promise significant benefits for early adopters, but they are not without disruptive impacts—including the possibility of disproportionately affecting more vulnerable members of society. The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) is organizing the highly anticipated 2024 CSR EXPO to rally CSR practitioners to collaborate and harness the potential of technology and innovation while overcoming their risks. This year’s conference is on July 3 and 4 at Dusit Thani Manila, while the EXPO is on July 4 and 5 at the Glorietta Activity Center, both in Makati City.

Aptly themed “Reimagining a New and Inclusive Future”, this year’s Expo will bring together leaders, experts, and representatives of different industries to tackle significant topics ranging from how technology can enhance CSR practice and ESG reporting to AI’s role as a catalyst for innovation and as a source of disruption. It will also feature small-group breakout sessions where attendees can gather new insights and tactics about how AI and other revolutionary technologies can be leveraged across such crucial areas as enterprise development, health, environment, education, disaster resilience, arts and culture, and financial inclusion.

This gathering of CSR experts will showcase the application of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting can help mitigate the challenges posed by technology. The sector aims to ensure that these technologies are inclusive and contribute to true societal and national development that benefits the 51% of Filipinos living in poverty.

“Corporates should view these innovations as vital opportunities to take part in, if not lead an all-of-nation implementations of CSR and ESG that maximize these innovations’ potential and promise while offsetting and minimizing their potential ill effects. These approaches must work to ensure that the application of technology is aligned with the fundamental principles of CSR and ESG, and, by doing so, made inclusive and contributes to social sustainability and the common good.” ~Shem Jose W. Union Catholic High School Invites Filipinos to Explore Educational Opportunities in the U.S.

Union Catholic High School (or Union Catholic, for short), a leading private school in New Jersey, U.S.A, is inviting Filipino families to explore the enriching academic and extracurricular programs offered at their institution. Through their recently held "Beyond Boundaries" roadshow in the Philippines, Union Catholic representatives were able to show glimpses of student life at their school to Filipino parents (and even non-parents!).

Founded in 1962, Union Catholic is a well-established institution known for “its rigorous academic programs, faith-based values, and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.” This was emphasized further during the roadshow, which had two “legs”—the first was at U.P. Town Center in Quezon City on June 18, and the second was at The Mind Museum in Taguig City on June 19.

“There are many reasons for you to want to come to Union Catholic. We have a wonderful community where all members of our community are respected. We have a diverse student body, dedicated faculty, and dynamic, first-rate facility, but the bottom line is here at Union Catholic, we love one another and want to see each member of our school community succeed.” ~Dr. James Reagan, Assistant Principal of Union Catholic High School, who was part of the three-person delegation behind the roadshow

Why Choose Union Catholic High School?

Union Catholic offers a rigorous academic program that prepares students for top colleges and universities. Highly qualified and dedicated teachers create a stimulating learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Staci Gialanella, the parent of students from the Class of 2020 and 2026, affirms the school’s strong academic program: “Union Catholic provides fertile ground to be able to achieve excellence.”

Filipino families will especially appreciate the school's commitment to:
  • A Strong Values-Based Foundation: Union Catholic integrates important values into its curriculum and daily life, fostering a sense of service, compassion, and respect for others.
  • Diverse Course Offerings: Beyond a core curriculum, Union Catholic offers a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, electives, and specialized programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM).
  • Vibrant Extracurricular Activities: Students can explore their interests and develop leadership skills through a variety of clubs, organizations, and athletic teams.
  • Supportive Community: Union Catholic fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel supported by their peers, teachers, and counselors.

“The Union Catholic community is so wonderful and makes every student feel welcome. Even though everyone comes from different places, as we go through our high school experience, our class becomes our family.” ~Sabrina Hackett, one of the students from Union Catholic’s Class of 2025
“The environment, the people, the classes; it just feels like home.” ~Jason Chen, a student from the Class of 2026

“The faculty care about their students and want to see them succeed. The students become so close together under that environment that some become friends for life.” ~Raymond Lestarchick, Union Catholic Alumna Graduated in 2019

Exploring Union Catholic for Filipino Families

Union Catholic is committed to providing a seamless transition for Filipino students. The school offers resources such as:
  • ESL Support: For students who are still developing their English language skills, Union Catholic offers English as a Second Language (ESL) support services.
  • Cultural Clubs and Organizations: Filipino students can connect with their heritage and build friendships through cultural clubs and organizations.
  • Multilingual Staff: Union Catholic has staff members who are familiar with Filipino culture and can assist families with the admissions process.

During the "Beyond Boundaries" roadshow, Dr. Jennifer Dixon, Director of School Counseling, also shared about their “homestay” program for international students. Under the program, each student is “matched” with a host family. This helps ensure that they feel "at home"  even if they are far from their loved ones.

Elito Tanyag, a religion teacher at Union Catholic who was also at the roadshow, had actually hosted several international students. As a Filipino himself, he expressed his hope that he would one day host Filipino students under the school’s “homestay” program.

He also assured the Filipino parents present at the roadshow that, as the school’s Filipino Club Moderator, he makes sure that the students are in touch with their culture but encouraged to be independent at the same time.

“It’s like having a Filipino Tito at school.” ~Elito Tanyag, a religion teacher at Union Catholic who was also at the roadshow

A World of Possibilities Awaits

It was evident at the roadshow that Union Catholic High School truly believes in nurturing the potential of every student, no matter where they come from. By choosing Union Catholic, Filipino families are opening a world of possibilities for their children. With a strong academic foundation, a supportive community, and a commitment to cultural diversity, Union Catholic is poised to help students achieve their dreams and truly go beyond boundaries.

Interested families are encouraged to visit their official website and their page for International Admissions. Details about their short-term programs for international students can also be found on their website. They also have a page dedicated to Scholarship Opportunities.

In her message during the signing ceremony, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte underscored the importance of partnerships with institutions like the Jollibee Group in promoting the well-being and dignity of SCs and PWDs through equal employment opportunities.

“We thank the Jollibee Group for this gesture, which is a sign that they are with us in our crusade towards inclusivity. For us in Quezon City, progress must be inclusive; everyone must be part of our progress. Age is just a number and a mindset, and we should not allow our age or our disability to be an obstacle to what we can contribute to our nation-building. I thank the Jollibee Group for taking away the obstacles that are preventing our SCs and PWDs from being active members of our workforce.” ~Joy Belmonte, Quezon City Mayor

Interested SCs and PWDs can go to the Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to help them with the requirements. They must also secure a fit-to-work certification from the Quezon City Health Department before they can proceed with the initial job screening by the City’s Social Services Department and the Persons with Disability Affairs Office.

Promoting an Inclusive Workplace. Since 2019, the Jollibee Group has partnered with various local government units in promoting an inclusive workplace where qualified SCs and PWDs can have the opportunity to join the Jollibee Group in its mission to serve great-tasting food, bringing the joy of eating to everyone.

Once qualified, SCs and PWDs will be endorsed by the LGU to the Jollibee Group for employment in select company-owned stores in Quezon City. Qualified SC and PWDs can work as guest relations staff, assisting store teams in serving customers at the counter and dining areas.

Besides Quezon City, the Jollibee Group has also partnered with the local government units of Manila, Antipolo, Muntinlupa, Pasig, and the provincial government of Rizal to implement this inclusive employment program.
